Bermuda Run Wedding in Winston-Salem
Life can be full of surprises. Each day leads to a new experience, unpredictability, and a chance to adventure. Christen and Jason’s wedding was certainly one of those bold, adventurous wedding days.
The Winston-Salem wedding weekend started out bright and sunny. We spent Friday afternoon capturing their hometown church, Revo Church, in Winston-Salem. Gorgeous time-lapse clouds and heartfelt toasts were shared by their close family. The weather, however, had different plans. The weather stations had been calling for rain all day Saturday, so we all planned for the worst and hoped for the best. Wow, we were graciously surprised.
Snow way!

Saturday was quite overcast and the rain called for slowly rolled in, but then something incredible happened. The rain turned to snow and soft flakes began falling gracefully throughout. The day turned into a beautiful display of winter weather that we couldn’t help but smile upon seeing.
A joyful occasion indeed.

In addition to the weather, it seemed as though we all couldn’t stop smiling. Christen and Jason were happy spirits and had nothing but joy throughout their wedding day. Smiles were abundant and the love could be felt, surrounding us in pure happiness.

And if you thought Christen was happy, wait until you see her father’s reaction when he saw her for the first time. I loved watching his reaction evolve from excitement, to shock, and settling upon a tear-filled joy of love for his daughter.
Your hand in mine.

Christen and Jason were so anxious to see one another on their wedding day but didn’t want to break tradition. Instead, they opted to share in a first touch. We positioned them around a door so they couldn’t see each other, but rather could feel and speak to one another. This was such a sweet moment and watching their faces as they felt one another’s hands and read each other’s cards was a delight.
Old friends and new.
Perhaps one of the most rewarding parts of our job is seeing old friends from past weddings. We were delighted to see Mary Margaret and Johnson at this Winston-Salem wedding. We captured their wedding day back in 2016 and were overjoyed to catch up with them.

Speaking of joy, this day was absolutely, 110% a reason to celebrate. Following the flower girl’s lead, we tossed our hands up in the air (ok we had to leave one hand on the camera) and joined the party. Christen and her father mixed it up and had an amazing first dance together, full of dance moves and gratuitous dabbing. Well done, dance stars.

And so, it’s time to say goodnight, but how about one last dance? Christen and Jason stuck around while their friends and family lined up outside so that they could have just one final dance. This time, just the two of them. It was so romantic and made for the perfect ending to this perfect day. Until next time, Winston-Salem.
