Forest Hall at Chatham Mills Wedding in Chapel Hill
Kristin & Glenn | Durham NC
Kristin and Glenn’s wedding day took us across parts of the triangle to experience a lovely celebration of marriage. They held the ceremony the stunning Westminster Presbyterian Church. Later in the day, we headed over to Forest Hall at Chatham Mills to celebrate their reception.
Their dedicated friends chose to celebrate the wedding day with them, rather than attending and always important UNC vs Duke game.
Prepping at Home in Chapel Hill
The girls started their day off getting ready at the home of Kristin’s parents. We love how they affectionately refer to their home as the Funny Farm and even had a cute sign on the front door. The stationary along with Kristin’s beautiful veil, made for the perfect backdrop to capture their wedding rings. Kristin’s bridesmaids chose several dress styles and colors that perfectly complemented one another. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this trend and we certainly hope it won’t be the last.
After Wedded Kiss finished styling Kristin’s hair, they added the perfect touch of florals, creating a stunning look. Kristin’s dress was exquisite and featured a long cathedral veil. This, along with her beautiful bouquet and pop of color, thanks to a lovely ribbon, made for an impressive ensemble for this soon to be wife.
Awaiting at the Church in Durham
While the ladies finished perfecting their attire, the gentlemen anxiously waited at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The guys opted for classic black attire complete with bowties. Glenn looked his absolute best and excitedly waited for the day to unfold. Soon his lovely bride would arrive and his jaw would drop to the floor as she walked down the aisle.
Perfect Wedding Video, No Matter the Challenges
One advantage our couples notice is our ability to work in any scenario. Westminster Presbyterian asked that we remain in the balcony for the wedding ceremony to respect the holiness of the service. Of course, this was not a problem for us. Our long camera lenses and lapel mics allowed us to capture all the emotion as the couple said their wedding vows.
After the ceremony, we spent some time with the couple and their photographer, Magnolia Photography, as we captured this newlywed couple. The trees around the church were starting to bloom, making for a lovely backdrop for these two. They were naturals on camera and made capturing beautiful portrait style video a breeze.
Forest Hall at Chatham Mills Wedding Reception
The reception decor at Forest Hall at Chatham Mills was breathtaking, to say the least. The team at A Swanky Affair knocked it out of the park. Massive wooden tables stretched across the room. Beautiful florals and adorable glassware filled the tables. Guests were able to locate their spot by checking the Mirrored seating chart. Once settled in, folks were able to test their knowledge of Kristin and Glenn with a crossword puzzle. This was such a cute idea!
Hundreds of candles provided mood lighting throughout the room, enhancing all the lovely decor. It must have taken forever to put up all those candles and get them all lit, but it was definitely worth the effort.
Dancing the Night Away in Chapel Hill
Guests enjoyed mingling throughout the night as they enjoyed a delicious dinner and ample amounts of beverages. After cutting the cake, it was time to party.
Affirmative Groove Band kicked up the tunes and provided a full night of entertainment. Having a wedding band at your reception is always a great choice. We danced alongside our cameras as we captured friends and family tearing up the dance floor.
With soles worn down and the end of the night approaching, Kristin and Glenn headed outside for a sparkler exit. They proceeded down the shouting line of fans, stopping for one last kiss before heading off into the night.
