Some Q & A

What is a “Chaptered Documentary Edit?”

In the world of wedding video, there exists two distinct styles, Documentary and Cinematic. The first of these wedding video styles is a Documentary Style and this is what we at HoneyDew create.

The documentary style focuses more on just capturing and presenting the day as it occurred. For example, your video might show the preparation of the bride and groom, followed by the ceremony processional, vows, first kiss, and then reception events as they occurred.

The cinematic style introduces a storytelling aspect to your wedding film and involves a larger amount of time to edit and create the final product. The additional time to produce the cinematic film results in a higher investment for the couple. For this reason, we at HoneyDew Films have elected to offer a simpler documentary edit to ultimately reduce the time to create your video and save you a little money.

Do I need 2 Videographers?

Having 2 videographers can be very beneficial to our clients and their videos. The advantage of using 2 videographers is the ability to have 2 manned cameras throughout your entire wedding. This means that while the bride and groom are getting prepped, we are able to capture both at the same time. This also comes in handy during the cocktail hour, where we leave one videographer back to capture the photo session with your family and friends, while the other videographer scurries on to the reception to capture all the amazing details and mingling between your guests.

A second videographer also allows for more angles and ultimately a more entertaining video. During the ceremony, toasts, and dancing both cameras will be focused on getting the special moments and details shared by you and your guests.

How long is my wedding video?

Most packages come with one of our Highlight Films. These are the bees knees for our clients and can range in 2-10 minutes in length based on the package you have selected. For the chaptered documentary edit, it greatly depends on several key factors. The first being which of our offerings you select. With more hours of shooting comes more detail, events, and footage to be used in your final DVD. Also, this depends on the length of your ceremony. The longer your ceremony, the longer your DVD will be since we incorporate most of the ceremony into your final DVD. But, if we have to throw a number out there, we typically estimate between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, of course this is all chaptered off into an easy to navigate menu, so you can pick and choose which parts you want to watch or just click play, sit back, and enjoy the show.

How do I reserve my date?

We require a $500 deposit to hold your wedding date. The remainder can be paid up to 2 weeks prior to your wedding day. We will simply send you an online booking webpage that will allow you to select your package, read/sign the contract, and even pay via credit, debit, or check. We think it’s really easy and convenient!

What music do you use?

We will send you a brief questionnaire prior to your wedding day. In this questionnaire you will fill out all the artists and genres you like. From there we will select several songs based on the list you gave us.
